Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net March 11, 2007, 6:57 pm The Gainesville Times, Page 2-B, Wednesday, December 29, 1976 Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. at the chapel of the Little- Davenport Funeral Home of Gainesville for John B. Cain, 86, of Gainesville. The Rev. Jay Reed, the Rev. William Atha and the Rev. Eugene Smith will officiate and interment will be in Memorial Park. The body is at the funeral home and will be placed in the chapel at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 99 tonight. Mr. Cain a native of Lumpkin County who had lived in Hall County for the past five years, died today at a private convalescent home following an extended illness. Prior to moving to Gainesville he had resided in Winder for a number of years. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the East Side Baptist Church in Winder. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ezzie Anderson Cain, Gainesville; two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Peck, Gainesville; Mrs. Merle Cane, Clarkston; five sons, J.C. (Dude) Cain, Carl P. Cain, John Alvin Cain, all of Gainesville; C. Lawton Cain, Tampa, Fla.; Al Cain, Clermont; 25 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
