Nancy Wheeler Echols, age 85, of Lula, GA died February 19, 1976 at Habersham 
County Medical Center  following an extended illness.
Mrs. Echols was born in Towns County, GA on November 2, 1890, but had lived 
most of her life in Hall County.  She was a daughter of the late Clark Wheeler 
and Jane Alston Wheeler.  Mrs. Echols was a homemaker and a member of Belton 
Baptist Church.
Survivors include:  her husband, Walker Echols of Lula, GA; 1 son:  Edward E. 
Echols of Lula, GA; 3 daughters: Mrs. Charles (Gladys) Payne of Cornelia, GA; 
Mrs. Elzie (Cirene) Barrett of Alto, GA; and Mrs. Scylist ( Boyd) McEver of 
Lula, GA.  4 halfbrothers:  Roosevelt Wheeler and Thomas Wheeler, both of 
Griffin, GA; Dorsey Wheeler of Dahlonega, GA and Garnett Wheeler of Anderson, 
Sc.  1 sister: Mrs. Clarence Large of Anderson, SC.  8 grandchildren & 14 
great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 1976 at Belton 
Baptist Church with Rev. Loyd Martin, Rev Hudson Thomas and Rev. Luther 
Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
