Walker Echols, age 94, of Cornelia, GA died September 11, 1980 at Habersham 
County Medical Center following an extended illnes.
Mr. Echols was born in Hall County, GA on October 5, 1885.  He was a son of 
the late James Perry Echols and Aminta Glenn Echols and was also preceded in 
death by his wife, Nancy Leola Wheeler Echols.
Mr. Echols was a retired farmer and was a member of Belton Baptist Church.
Survivors include:  3 daughters:  Mrs. Charles (Gladys) Payne of Cornelia, GA; 
Mrs. Boyd McEver of Lula, GA; and Mrs. Elzie (Cirene) Barrett of Alto, GA.  1 
son:  Edward E. Echols of Lula, GA.  8 grandchildren and 14 great 
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 1980 at Belton 
Baptist Church with Rev. Loyd Martin and Rev. Hudson Thomas officiating.  
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
