Professor Geiger, Gainesville. Gainesville, Ga., June 2- Professor August Geiger, president of the Southern Music Teachers Association, teacher of harmony, musical history and technique at Brenau college- conservatory, died at his home of a compilation of troubles, after an illness of several months. Professor Geiger was a native of Esslingen, Wurtenburg, Germany, and was born August 16, 1862. He was, therefore, in his forty-eighth year. He came to the United States when a young man, and resided in the west for several years. He returned to Germany and was married, after which he came back to this country and located in the south. For many years he has been connected with Brenau, and he was regarded as one of the best musical educators in this section of the country. Professor Geiger is survived by his wife and one son, Adam K. Geiger.
