This file was contributed and copyrighted by: Vicki Chambers ==================================================================== April 2001 Gainesville News Jan 29,1949 CHESTER R.JONES, BURIED AT LEBANON Correction Death Jan. 14, 1949 Chester R.(Ches ) Jones, retired Baliff and wellknown Hall County Citizen was buried at Lebanon Cemetery Sunday, January 16,after having died the previous Friday at the Hall County Hospital following a long illness. The Rev. Paul Smith officiated assisted by the Rev. McLowery Elrod and the Rev. H C Stratton. Mr Jones was a lifelong resident of Hall County and had acted as baliff for 17 years before retiring. He had been a member of Lebanon Methodist Church for 75 years and was a member of the Odd Fellows and Red Men. His survivers include his wife,Mrs.India Jones, Gainesville: three daughters Mrs. Carrenia Major, Atlanta: Mrs. Wanna Faye Haynes, Gainesville: Mrs. Bernice Palmour, Gillsville, Rt 1: tree sons, the Rev. Dr. Wolls M. Jones, Rome: E Ratliff Jones, Gainesville Rt 1: Paul Jones, Athens: 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren
