This file was contributed and copyrighted by: Vicki Chambers ==================================================================== April 2001 Gainesville News March 26,1951 date of death; March 21, 1951 JONES FUNERAL HELD THIS WEEK Funeral services for Ernest Ratliff Jones, of Gainesville Route 4 were held last Saturday at Lebanon Methodist Church with the Rev. J. H. Smith and W.H. Bowthan officiating. Burial was in the Church cemetery. Ward's Funeral Home was in charge. Mr. Jones died at Lawson Hospital following a four week illness. He was 62. A lifelong resident of Hall County he was a farmer and had been a school bus driver for Tadmore School for 20 years. Mr Jones was a veteran of World War I and had been a member of Lebanon Church for 42 years. He was Chairman of the Board of Stewards at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. BN King of Buford, Mrs J. M. Morris, Gainesville Route 4, Miss Doris Jones, Gainesville Route 4, Two sons, David A. Jones, of Gainesville and Chester Jones of Gainesville.: Three sisters, Mrs C. Majors Atlanta, Mrs Bernice Palmour, Gillsville Route 15, Mrs. W.L. Haynes, Gainesville. Two brothers : Dr. Wills M. Jones, Atlanta: Mr Paul Jones, Gainesville and four Grandchildren.
