W. Curtis Lewis, of Gainesville, Ga., Dies of Typhoid Fever. W. Curtis Lewis died yesterday morning at 10:30 o'clock. His death was the result of an attack of typhoid fever contracted several weeks ago in Gainesville, Ga. An operation was performed at the Grady hospital, but it proved to be unsuccessful. He was a young man 19 years old, with a bright future before him, and possessed of many friends. He was a member of the Candler Horse Guards, troop F, of the First Cavalry, of Gainesville. During the recent tornado at that place he was stationed for a period of ten days doing guard duty at that place, and in this time contracted a fever which ended in his death. The body was taken to Gainesville yesterday afternoon, and will be buried with military honors. It was accompanied by an honorary escort composed of Claude Moner, Frederick Cook, Grover Smith, George Harrison, Harry DeNise, Lewis Moore, Cleveland Cook and Mr. Herring.
