MORTUARY.

Gainesville, Ga., May 25-
At the age of 87 years, Rev. James L. Phillips, one of the oldest Baptist 
ministers in this section of the state, died at his home, two miles south of 
Floewery Branch.  The funeral was conducted from Big Creek church, the services 
being led by Rev. J. M. Sheffield.  He is survived by the following children: 
J. Lewis, M. J. and T. R. Phillips, and Miss Annie Phillips, together with a 
host of friends.
