Suddeth Was One Of The Pioneers Of Hall County Gainesville, Ga., April 1 – T.J. Suddeth is dead at his home in Jefferson, aged 90 years. He was born and reared in Hall County and moved to Jackson County 14 years ago. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George W. Faulkner, of Bellton and Mrs. J.A. Suddeth, of Jefferson. He leaves 30 great-grandchildren and 12 great- great grandchildren. Mr. Suddeth had the distinction of being the first man to suggest Governor Allen D. Candler for any political office. This was prior to 1877, when he suggested Colonel Candler for representative in the legislature from Hall County, and the latter made the race and was elected. Mr. Suddeth was also the first man to suggest Colonel Candler for governor of Georgia and urged him to enter the race for the nomination. He thought a great deal of the present governor and rejoiced at his success in political life.
