Death of Mr. John Spence.
Gainesville, Ga., January 28-
Mr. John Spence, of this city, died at his home quite suddenly at 4 o'clock 
this afternoon.  He complained this morning of a pain in the region of his 
heart and did not come up town.  About 4 o'clock he was sitting by the fire, 
and getting up, lay down across his bed on his right side, and expired.  He was 
a brave son of Erin, and a gallant Confederate soldier.  He was a tailor by 
trade, and brother-in-law of ex-Postmaster Wilson, of Atlanta.  He was an Odd 
Fellow and attended a meeting last night.
