J. N Twitty, Gainesville. Gainesville, Ga., April 21-The remains of J. N. Twitty, who died in an Atlanta sanitarium last night, were carried to his former home in Jackson county for burial. Several weeks ago Mr. Twitty suffered a second stroke of paralysis and it was thought best to carry him to the Atlanta sanitarium for treatment. He of a Jackson county family, but for several years has been one of the valued citizens of Gainesville. He owned considerable real estate here and large farming interests in Jackson county. Mr. Twitty was prominent in politics in the Ninth congressional district, at one time offering for congress. A son, Clarence Twitty, a traveling man, and a daughter, Miss Fay Twitty, survive him. J. NEWTON TWITTY DIES FRO PARALYSIS STROKE. J. Newton Twitty, of Gainesville, who recently suffered a severe stroke of paralysis, died Saturday night in a private sanitorium. The body was removed to Patterson's chapel and later was carried to Gainesville, where the funeral was held yesterday afternoon. The interment will be in his birthplace, Jefferson, Ga. Mr. Twitty was 59 years old, and is survived by one son, F. C. Twitty, and one daughter, Miss Fay Twitty, both of whom reside in Gainesville. He also leaves two brothers, J. D. Twitty, of Gainesville, and Rev. T. T. Twitty, of Norcross, Ga., and one sister, Mrs. J. G. Pittman, of Atlanta. He was a retired merchant of Gainesville and an ex-member of the legislature. He was an active member of the First Baptist church, and was identified as one of the most successful officials of Hall county.
