Jan. 25  The body of Mrs. Georgia Brewster Wilkes was brought to Gainesville 
Friday afternoon and was interred at Alta Vista cemetery.  The services at the 
grave were conducted by Rev. F. D. Cantrell, of St. Paul Methodist church.
Mrs. Georgia Brewster Wilkes was born in Gainesville and moved to Atlanta when 
a young girl.  She married Col. Sam W. Wilkes, of the Georgia railroad, in 
Atlanta 25 years ago.  One child, Miss Marjorie Wilkes, survives the union.
Mrs. Wilkes was a granddaughter of the late Dr. Richard Banks, the eminent 
oculist of this state.  Mrs. Wilkes was the daughter of Captain Walter S. 
Brewster and Susan Banks Brewster.  She was a graduate of Wesleyan college and 
was a cousin of Major Archibald Butt of the Titanic disaster.
