A Happy Marriage Yesterday Under Impromptu Arrangements and Circumstances. Yestday about noon it was rumored about the Markham house that a charming young lady of Gainesville and a wealthy young Cincinnatian were on the point of entering the holy state of wedlock. The young lady was Miss Estelle Lawshe, daughter of Colonel P. F. Lawshe, of Gainesville, and the young Cincinnatian was Mr. Charles W. Van Vleck, who is largely interested in mining in north Georgia, but whose home is in Cincinnati. The young people were accompanied by several friends and the party had rooms at the hotel. It was hinted there was a touch of romance in the prospective marriage and it was kept as secret as possible. At half-past two o'clock three carriages appeared at the ladies entrance of the hotel, and the bridal party entered the carriages and were driven to the First Methodist church, where they met Rev. Clement A. Evans, the pastor. The party was composed of the happy couple, with Mrs. Ralph Van Dusen and Mrs. Landrum, both sisters of the bride, Mr. Landrum and Mr. Norman Lawshe, a brother of the bride. General James Longstreet also accompanied the party in the role of best man to the groom. At the church General Evans, in an impressive manner performed the ceremony, and the bridal party returned to the hotel. Last night Mr. and Mrs. Van Vleck left for Savannah. The day for the marriage had been appointed but the details had not been arranged. The young people met in the city yesterday and arranged for the marriage hastily and happily it is hoped, and THE CONSTITUTION extends its best wished for their future welfare. The groom is a gentleman of means and social position, and his bride is a most estimable lady.
