Stephenson on Nov. 11, 1999 Will of Beal Baker, from Record of Wills, Hall County, GA, book A, 1837-1867, page 17 Gerogia Hall County In the name of God, Amen I, Beal Baker of the State aforesaid being in health and sound mind and of disposing memory do make and Ordain this my last Will and testament hereby revoking all others in the following form and manner 1st I give and bequeath my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be decently interred by my executors hereafter named. And as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to help me with I give and bequeath in the following manner. 2nd I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved Wife Sarah Baker all my estate both real and personal during her life of Widowhood and at her death to equally divide as follows - To John Baker, Charles Baker, Elias Baker, Joshua Baker's heirs, Mary Prickett, Elizabeth Chambers, William Sanford Baker my Grandson and Nancy Tedder. 3rd I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved daughter Margaret Mabry Five dollars in Cash 4th I give and bequeath to beloved daughter Sarah Williams One Dollar in Cash 5th Give and bequeath unto my son Joseph D. Baker and my son Ashley Baker One half as much as I bequeath to my sons John, Charles, Elias, Joshua, Mary and Elizabeth my daughters and Nancy and William my gransdson. 6th I give and beqeuath unto my son James G. Baker a full share with the above named legatees (to wit) John, Charles, Elias, Joshua, Mary, Elizabeth, William my grandson and Nancy Tedder. 7th I do hereby Constitute and apoint my sons Elias Baker & Joseph D. Baker my lawful Executors of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have herewith set my hand and seal this Twentyfifth day of March One thousand Eight hundred and forty. Ballew who being duly sworn say that they saw Beal Baker Sign Seal publish and declare the annexed writing as his last Will and Testament, that at the time thereof he was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of their knowledge and belief. Page 687 Georgia Hall County Before the Honorable the Inferior Court of said county sitting for Ordinary purposes. In appearing to the Court that Josiah Pricket one of the Securities of Joseph D. Baker & Elias Baker Administrators of the estate of Beal Baker has been discharged & exonerated from said Administration and that James G. Baker the present Security is not responsible to the extent of his bond as Administrator. It is therefore Ordered that the said Joseph D. Baker & Elias Baker tender new and additional Security for their administration. On or before the ensuing Term of this Court sittint on the first Monday in March next. January Term 1848 Georgia Hall County Inferior Court sitting for Ordinary purposes March Term 1848 Appearing to the Court that a Rule was taken at the last session of this Court requiring Joseph D. Baker and Elias Baker Administrators of the estate of Beal Baker dec'd. To give new and additional Security for their Administration of said estate on or before the present session of this Court. And that the said Adnimistrators have failed to comply with the requirements of said rule. It is therefore Ordered that said Letters of Administration be revoked. ........E. M.
