This file was contributed by: Cline Averett averett@innova.net ==================================================================== Georgia Hancock County This indenture made this the twenty ninth day of November, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight between Solomon Averitt, Mary Everitt and Albrite Averitt of the County of Hancock and the State of Georgia of the one part and George Rachell of the County of Hancock and the State of Georgia of the other part, witnesseth that said Solomon Averitt, Mary Averitt, & Averitt for, and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to them in hand at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt of whereof is hereby acknowledged, ha_ granted, bargained, sold and convey unto said George Rachell his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the county and state aforesaid on Williams Creek bounded on the North and West by Vinson and on the South and East by said Rachell and . . . . .Beginning at a sweet gum (originally post oak) on a branch and running 16 chains and fifty links to a black oak tree thence South thirty minutes west fourteen chain and fifty links to a pine thence North eighty seven degrees forty five minutes, forty chains to a pine, thence North two degrees fifteen minutes east, thirty two chains to a red oak line tree thence North thirty minutes east, twenty two chains to a new marked sweet gum on the creek , at the head of the mill pond, thence down the northern bank of said mill pond to a post oak, then south one chain and fifty links to the creek thence down the meanders of said creek to a white oak, thence south seventy five degrees east, three chains and fifty links to a popular, thence thirty three and half degrees to a sweet gum, sixteen chains, thence south seven chains and forty links to a red oak on a branch, thence up the meanders of said branch to the beginning sweet gum. - To have and to hold said tract or parcel of land to him the said George Rachell his heirs and assigns together with all and singular the rights, members and appurtances thereof, to the same in any belonging to his and their own proper use, benefit and behoof? forever, as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple -------And the said Solomon Averitt, Mary Averitt and Albrite Averett for their heirs, executors and administrators, the said bargained premises, unto the said George Rachell his heirs, assigns, will warrant, and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claims of all other persons whatever__In witness thereof the said Solomon Averitt, Mary Averitt and Albrite Averett hath herewith set their hands and seals, the day and year above written, the words forty chains intertined? before signed.
