This indenture made and entered into this twenty-seventh day of December 
eighteen hundred and twenty four between Solomon Barefield of the one part, 
and John Andrews of the other part, both of the County and State aforesaid.  
Witnesseth, the said Solomon for and in consideration of the sum of one 
thousand dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged, hath bargained, sold, and by these presence, do bargain, sell 
and convey unto the said John a certain tract or parcel of land, situate in 
the County aforesaid on both sides of Fulsoms Creek adjoining lands of Lloyd 
Kelly, Henry W. Latimer and others.  Beginning at a Hickory and running thence 
South fifty east thirty five chains to a Stake, thence North forty West fifty 
seven chains to a pine, thence South fifty West thirty five chains to a post 
oak, thence South forty East fifty seven chains to the beginning corner, 
containing two hundred acres, be the same more or less, to have and to hold 
the said bargained premises with all and singular the rights and priviledges 
pertaining thereto, and the said Solomon doth bind himself, his heirs and 
assigns to warrent and forever defend the aforesaid bargained premises unto 
the said John, his heirs and assigns in fee simple.  In witness whereof I 
hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year before written.
