Witnesseth that the said Richard Barfield for and in consideration of the sum of one Hundred pounds Sterling Lawfull money of said State to him in hand, well and truly to be paid by the said John Booth at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold released and confirmed, and by these presents do grant Bargain Sell release and confirm unto the said John Booth, his Heirs and assigns All that Tract or parcel of land containing two Hundred Eighty Seven and half acres (more or less) situate lying and being in Washington County on Rockey creek near the Oconey river granted to the said Richard Barfield the 31st day of December 1784, bounding Southward by John Pitman Eastwardly by Edward Young and all other sides by rocky creek, having such form marks and shapes as the plot to the Original Grant annexed doth more fully and at large appear, together with all and Singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof whatsoever to the said tract of land being beloning [sic] or in any wise appurtaining and the remainders Reversions, Rents, Issues and profits thereof and of every part thereof. To have and to hold the said tract of land and all and Singular the premises and appurtenances thereunto belonging as aforesaid and every part thereof unto the said John Booth his Heirs and assigns to the only proper use Benefit and behoof of the said John Booth his Heirs and assigns for ever and the said Richard Barfield and his Heirs the said tract of land and premises aforesaid and every part thereof unto the said John Booth Heirs and assigns against him the said Richard Barfield and his heirs and all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents in Witness whereof the said Richard Barfield have hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.
