This Indenture made and entered into this twenty ninth day of  of December 
Eighteen hundred & twenty six between Solomon Barefield & Cullen Battle both 
of the County & State aforesaid.  Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of 
the sum of three hundred dollars the said Cullen Battle hath this day 
bargained & sold and by these presents doth bargain & sell unto the said 
Solomon Barefield a certain parcel of land being part of the land bought by 
said Battle of Abram Williams, commencing at a corner post Oak on the South 
east side of the road opposite where said Barefield now lives, being a corner 
originally Battles' & Williams, thence running about an East course to a 
Mulberry Corner on the Branch, then North down the Branch to a white Oak, and 
then on the old Station line between Williams & Marchman[?] thence along the 
Creek about North west until it intersects the line of said Williams & 
Barefield on the west side of said Tract, thence about South to the lane fence 
between Battle & Barefield, thence South East about four hundred & fifty yards 
to a ??????mon on the line between said parties, thence to the original corner 
a Post Oak, containing about ninety acres of land to the said Barefield his 
heirs and assigns forever, and the said Cullen Battle doth forever warrant and 
defend the above described parcel of land to the said Solomon Barefield his 
heirs & assigns against the claim of himself, his heirs and from the claims of 
any other person whatever.  In testimony whereof he hath hereto set his hand & 
affixed his seal the day & date above written.

Personally appeared before me Eli Champion who on oath saith, that he saw 
Cullen Battle sign, seal and deliver the within Deed, for the purpose therein 
contained and that he also saw Daniel L. Richardson & David Barefield sign the 
same with himself as subscribing witnesses to the same.
