This file was contributed by: Beth Collins collins@negia.net ==================================================================== Hancock County Deeds and Mortgages, 1795-1800 Hancock County 14th Feby 1797 This indenture made this seventh day of Septr in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six between Robert Montgomery and Isaac Daniel, both of the county of Hancock and state of Georgia Witnesseth, that the said Robert Montgomery for and in consideration, of the sum of one hundred Dollars hath this day bargained sold and delivered, and doth by these presents bargain sell and deliver unto the said Isaac Daniel, one tract or parcel of Land lying on the waters of Island creek adjoining the lands of a certain Wilkins containing by estimation one hundred and seventy eight acres more or less to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land against the claim or claims of all other persons, and the said Robert Montgomery doth for himself his heirs do warrant and defend the right and title of the said tract of Land, unto the said Isaac Daniel his heirs and assigns forever, in witness whereof he the said Robert Montgomery hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day & year above written Signed Sealed & } Delivered in presence of } Robt Montgomery SEAL Thos Lamar [Signature illegible] W (M?)
