This file was contributed by: Beth Collins collins@negia.net ==================================================================== Hancock County Deed Book K, pages 531-532 Georgia } This Indenture made this Seventh day of September in the year of our Hancock County } Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventeen between William Montgomery of the State aforesaid and county of Jones of the one part and Major Peace of the said State and county of Hancock of the other part Witnesseth, that the said William Montgomery for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid at and before the signing sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby paid by the said Major Peace at or before the signing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained, sold, released and confirmed and by these presents doth bargain, sell, release and confirm unto the said Major Peace his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and fifty acres be the same more or less situate in the County of Hancock on the waters of Buffalo Creek bounded by Mallet, Shy, and the said Pease's lands beginning at a hickory corner and running South fifty degrees East fifty three chains Sixty two links to a pine corner, thence North forty degrees east along the old line to the dividing line between William John and the said Montgomery thence North fifty degrees west along said dividing line fifty three chains sixty two links to a Stake Corner on the old line thence South forty degrees West along the old line to the beginning hickory Corner, the same being part of a tract of land originally granted to John Acord bearing date the second day of August seventeen hundred and eighty six. Together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof belonging or in any wise appertaining to the said tract of land and premises to the only use benefit and behoof of him the said Major Peace his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents from himself his heirs and from all and every other persons or persons whatsoever.
