This file was contributed by: Beth Collins collins@negia.net ==================================================================== Hancock County Deeds and Mortgages, 1795-1800 This Indenture made this thirteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety two and of the American Independence the Seventeenth Between John Shakleford of the County of Columbia and State of Georgia of the one part and John Parker of the County of Elbert and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth, that the said John Shakleford for and in consideration of the sum ten pounds Sterling money of the said State to him in hand paid by the said John Parker at and before the sealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and he the said John Shakleford for himself his Heirs &c. hath Bargained and sold unto the said John Parker and by these presents doth Bargain sell Convey unto the said his heirs & assigns a certain Tract of Land lying and being in the County of Greene and State aforesaid containing 287 1/2 acres more or less on the waters of Shoulderbone Creek adjoining Land of Isaac Jackson Northeaswarly and on the other sides by Land unknown the same will more fully appear by a Grant from his honor Edward Telfair to John Shakleford bearing date the twentyfourth day of November 1786 the aforesaid bargained land and premises with the appertinences thereof and the said John Shakleford doth hereby acknowledge to relinquish all the right and Title of the aforesaid Land and premises unto the said Parker his Heirs &c. for Ever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above mentioned Signed sealed & delivered in the presents of } Jno Shakleford LS his John X While Barthm.
