James Waller's Company being duly returned and called as a Delinquent on the 7th Inst was fined three dollars---------------- --$3.00 The following persons, privates in Capt. Wm. Barnes's Company who were duly summoned to Stand as a guard to the jail; were reported and called as delinquents and fined as follows ( to wit ) Willie Abercrombie Dcy 11th & 7th March 1805 fined $2.00 Samuel Butts do 10 " 7th " do 2.00 Hugh Taylor do 14-----------" do 1.00 Ordered that a fine inflicted by the Battalion Court of Enquiry held at Henry Trippes on The 12th day of October 1804. upon Mr Thweatt be remitted. Also a fine inflicted at the same time upon Oliver Skinner be remitted. Ordered that John Crowder Paymaster to the Regt. Call upon the several constables in The different Districts in said Regt. For all moneys they have in their hands and to direct Them to collect and pay over all which remains uncollected Ordered that a fine imposed by Battalion Court of Enquiry held at Capt Jesse Connell on The 13th day of October 1804 upon Sam. Twilly be remitted ( page 14 ) Ordered that a fine inflicted by Battalion Court of Enquiry held at Henry Trippes on the 12th day of october 1804 upon Luke Harrington be remitted Ordered that the Paymaster pay the sum of twenty dollars to Harris Brantly for services Rendered as Provost Marshall Ordered that the sum of twelve dollars be by the Paymaster paid unto Duncan McLean For services rendered as Clerk Ordered that the sum of fourteen dollars be by the Paymaster paid unto Peter Mills for Services rendered as Drum Major Ordered that the sum of fourteen dollars be by the Paymaster paid unto Robert Mills for Services rendered as Fife Major Ordered that a fine imposed by a Battalion Court of Enquiry held at Henry Tripps on The 12th day of October 1804 upon William Jones be remitted- --- Also a fine imposed at The same time on Thomas Stevens be remitted Ordered that Samuel Foster, Nicholas Lamb& Richard W. Motley be, and they are Hereby discharged from Military duty-also that Jesse Veasey of Capt. Barnes Company Be discharged from militaty duty. ( page 15 ) Ordered that in forty eight hours after notice shall be given that a guard is required to Guard the jail, a draught shall be made for those who have attend as a guard Ordered that a fine inflicted by a Battalion Court of Enquiry held at Henry Trippes on The 12th day of October 1804 upon Henry Brown be remitted Ordered that a fine imposed upon Walter Thedford at a Battalion Court of Enquiry held At Capt. Jesse Connells on the 13th day of October 1804 be remitted Ordered that money in the hand of the Paymaster be appropriated for the purchase of Musical instruments for the several Companies in the Regt. Was called into Court and at the Request of the President Administered the oath required by law to William Davenport, That is to support the constitution of the United States and of this State and the Militia Law thereof Henry Graybill Capt. of the 23rd Battalion being duly returned and called as a delinquent For not attending the Regimental Court of Enquiry held in Sparta on the 31st day of May Last was fined three dollars ( page 17 ) John Simmons Capt. in the 24th Battn being duly returned and called as a delinquent for Not attending a Battalion Court of Enquiry in Majr. Conley's Battalion held at Capt. Jesse Connell on the 13th day of march last was fined five dollars Also for non attendence at a Regimental Court of Enquiry held at Sparta on the 31st day Of may last was fined five dollars On application from the 15th Regiment of Militia to have the dividing line between 14th & 15th Regiments altered so as to permit the 15th Regt. To muster on the parade ground in Sparta RESOLVED That the dividing line between the 14th & 15th Regiments be as follows ( to wit ) Beginning at the old Regimental line at Danielly's old field, from thence to Henry Moss's house leaving the house on the right side thence to the muster ground In Sparta from the muster ground to Charles Abercrombie's house leaving his house On the right side thence to the old Regimental line, leaving M--- Reese's house on the Right also, leaving James Thweatt's plantation on the right The court adjourned untill the first Friday in March next- Epps Brown _______________ Attest James H. Dist. 108 After the usual oath was administered to the different Officers the Court was formed And proceeded to business An Election was held for Clerk & Provost Marshall for said Regiment, after receiving & Counting out the Ballots, it appears that James H. Jones was duly elected Clerk and Harris Brantley was duly elected Provost Marshall The following persons, privates in Capt Henry Huff's Company were duly returned and Called as delinquents for non attendance at a Regimental Muster in Sparta on the 18th March 1806-were fined in the several sums annexed to their names George Clower fined $3.00 William Brodnax Sen. " 3.00 Dudley Sivinny " 3.00 ( page 20 ) The following persons, privates in Capt James Crowder"s Company were duly returned And called as delinquents for non attendance at a Regimental Muster in Sparta on the 18th - March 1806-were fined in the several sums annexed to their nemes viz Ebenezer Torrance fined $3.00 Ephraim Dunn " 3.00 Andrew Hodge a private in Capt John Coffee's Company being duly returned and called as a delinquent for non attendance at a Regimental Musterin Sparta on the 18th March 1806 Was fined -------------$3.00 Ordered That the sum of eight dollars be by the Paymaster paid unto Robert Mills for Services rendered as Fife Major Ordered That the sum of three dollars be by the paymaster paid unto Peter Mills for Services rendered as Drum Major ( page 21 ) Ordered That the sum of twelve dollars be by the paymaster paid unto Harris Brantley For services rendered as Provost Marshall to the 14th Regt. Ordered That the sum of twenty eight dollars be by the paymaster paid unto James H. Jones for services rendered as Clerk to the 14th Regt. Ordered That William Weaver and Francis Moreland be, and they are discharged from Military duty. Ordered That the next Regimental Muster be at the house of Thomas Brantley, provided That the people of Sparta do not propose a parade ground sufficent for that Purpose, previous to that time the Court adjourned till the first Saturday in July Next- Epps Brown __________ Lieut. Alexander Bass was returned as a delinquent for non attendance at a Regminental Court of Enquiry held in Sparta on the 2nd day of May last Was fined-----------------------$1.00 Also, for Neglecting to Notify the privates of his Company, who were delinquents at a Battalion Muster on the 25th April 1805 to attend a Battalion Court of Enquiry held at Henry Trippes on the 9th May 1806 --- was fined ------- $10.00 ( page 23 ) Eli Harris Adjutant was returned as a delinquent for not attending a muster of Officers In Sparta on the 17th March last Was fined ---------------$5.00 ------ ( paid ) Also for Neglecting to attend and make his returns to the Regimental Court of Enquiry Held in Sparta on the 2nd May 1806 Was fined ----------------$5.00 --------- ( paid ) Resolved, That all Officers who sat on the Regimental Court of Enquiry shall appear in Their Ordinary military uniform Also, the Clerk & the Provost Marshall shall appear in uniform as the law directs or be Subject to such pains & penalties as the Court may think proper to inflick The Court adjourned till the fourth Friday 26th September next Epps Brown __________ Lieut Col. 14th Regt.
