The Covington Star
     Amanda Eubanks, of Hancock county, is now probably the richest colored 
woman in the United States, provided she can “hold her own” against the world.- 
She is the woman to whom  the late David Dickson, of Hancock county, gave 
150,000 in his will. The legatees and beneficiaries will attempt to break the 
will. If they succeed, Manda will have to take the Lambs share.

The Covington Star, June 3, 1885
     The estate of the late David Dickson of Hancock county, has been appraised 
at $350,000. In his will he gave the entire estate to a colored woman. The 
relatives of Mr. Dickson will make an effort to break the will under the plea 
of undue influence having been brought to beat upon him.
