Georgia. Hancock County.  Obituary of Augustus B. Dunn, June 18, 1886

Augustus B. Dunn , born 1810 in Hancock County, Georgia, was the 
youngest of four sons born to John Dunn and unknown spouse or spouses.  
His family migrated to Georgia from Onslow County, NC in 1807 and he 
lived his entire life in the county.  Augustus was married to Rebecca 
Kelley, by whom he had six children, in 1830 and to Betheny Dennis 
Dudley in 1876.  He died June 16, 1886.  It is not known where he was 
buried.

“Augustus B. Dunn, one of Hancock’s oldest and best citizens, died at 
his residence, on Wednesday evening last, and was buried on Thursday.  
He was between 75-80 years old, was an honest man in every sense of the 
word and a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and a true Christian.  The 
ISMAELITE tenders sincere condolence to the bereaved ones.”
