Mrs. K. S. SMITH Died this morning. Funeral from south main street Baptist 
church tomorrow morning at nine o'clock.
Mrs. Kezziah Sidney Smith, Mother of Dr. E.J. SMITH, passed quickly from life 
into the Great Beyond this morning at half past ten o'clock at the family 
residence in Oakhaven Court. For several weeks she had been ill with a serious 
affection of the heart and though she rallied from the first attack it was 
known that her recovery was not possible. Last Friday there was a turn for the 
worse and gradually she grew weaker though fully conscious until early 
yesterday morning.
Mrs. Smith was 78 years old on the 26th of October. She was a native of 
Deveraux, GA. She taught school as a young lady in communities near her house 
and was held in affectionate esteem by a host of former pupils in that part of 
Georgia. She was married to Mr. A. I. Smith, farmer and merchant, who died a 
number of years ago. They had only one child, Dr. Ernest J. Smith, of 
Greenwood. Mrs. Smith leaves two sisters, Mrs. T. H. Coleman, of Deveraux; Mrs. 
A. P. Harper, of Macon; one brother, Mr. T. U. Butts, of Deveraux; one sister-
in-law, Mrs. T. U. Butts, of Columbus.
Funeral services will be held from South Main Street Baptist Church tomorrow, 
Wednesday, morning at nine o'clock. Immediately after the funeral services at 
the church the funeral party will leave from Augusta over the Charlseton and 
Western Carolina railway on the way to Tennille, GA where burial will be had 
Thursday morning. Dr. Harry A. Bagby of Marion , AL will conduct the funeral 
exercises.
