Death of Thos. J. Smith
The death of Mr. Thomas J. Smith which occured last Friday evening at his home 
near Fraley's ferry, in this county, has made many hearts sad in Baldwin and 
Hancock counties, where he was well and favorably known. He was about 48 years 
of age and leaves a wife and four children. He was a member of the old Fourth 
Georgia Regiment and was looking forward with much pleasure to the approaching 
reunion.

Additional Comments:
Thomas was the son of William C. and Martha Ann Davis Burton SMITH. He was the 
husband of Sallie G. SANFORD. The 4 children listed in his obituary were- 
Walter O., Mae, Lilly, and Roscoe Sanford SMITH.
