Died, Dec. 28th, in Hancock Co., Ga., Mrs. Charon H., wife of John Rachels, 
aged 46. About 30 years ago she obtained religion, and join the Me.E.Church. 
From that time hers was the life of a Christian. During her illness, which was 
of four weeks duration, she contemplated, with calmness and resignation, her 
approaching dissolution. She exhorted her husband and children in a most 
earnest and affectionate manner; she endeavoured ti impressupon the mid of her 
youngest son, a boy twelve or thirteen years old, the great importance of 
attending Sabbath School, and of treasuresuring up i his hear and practising 
the lessons there inculcated.      A Friend.

Additional Comments:
Caron was the dau. of Abraham and Sarah Ellis Rosser Smith. Children, Leacy 
Rachels Blount, Missouri Rachels Smith and sons John Pinkney Rachels and 
Thomas Jefferson Rachels. She married John C. Rachels Mar. 12, 1822 Jasper Co.
