The Augusta Chronicle, October 26, 1941

CHARLES WILLIAMS
Sparta, Ga., Oct. 25 – Charles Williams, 72, retired farmer, died at his home 
at Jewell, Hancock county, today.  He was a lifelong resident.
  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Emma Shelton Williams; two sons, C.W. Williams, 
Athens, W. W. Williams, Jewell; two daughters, Mrs. George Howell, Sparta, Miss 
Etta Williams, Jewell, and one grand-daughter.
   Funeral services graveside, Mill Creek church Sunday morning at 10:30 
o’clock.





Additional Comments:
Charles W. Williams was born June 1868, Glascock Co., GA, died October 25, 
1941, Hancock Co., GA.  He was married May 19, 1889, Warren Co., to Emma 
Shelton, daughter of Sylvanus and Elizabeth Susan (Parker?) Shelton.  Although 
the obituary calls him a lifelong resident of Hancock Co., he is found in 
Glascock Co. in the 1870, 1880, 1900 and 1910 census and in Warren Co. in 
1920.
