It appearing to the Court by affidavit that, the defendant in this case is out of this state - It is ordered that he appear on the first day of the next term of this Court- and answer to allegations of the Complainant in this case - or that in his default the case move to trial and that a copy of this order be published in the Georgia Journal one a month for four months hence running. Transcription of copy of documents sent to me by Laura Pittman-Kleinschmidt and received Oct 1, 2001 NOTES: Sarah Dean married John White, license issued June 13, 1836; married Sept 6, 1836 in Hancock Co., Ga. She applied for a divorce from John White Oct 1838, page 284, Superior Court minutes, Hancock Co. Divorce granted April 12, 1839. She married Pethuel Pittman Feb 11, 1840. No records found to show why on Oct. 13, 1843 she had to again obtain a divorce from John White. Records do show that she did divorce John White twice. There is indication that John White was not available when the first divorce was granted.. She and Pethuel Pittman married again Nov. 8, 1843. In Name Changes By Legislative Acts of Georgia 1800-1856, the name of Narcissa Frances White and James "Henry" White was changed to Pittman in Hancock Co. Dec 28, 1843.
