The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ GEORGIA} HANCOCK COUNTY} In the name of God amen, I Mark Sanders of the State & County aforesaid, being of sound mind and memory but low in health and knowing that it is appointed once for all men to die Do make this my last will and testament revoking all others heretofore by me made in manner and following that is to say Its my will that devise that all of my just debts be paid and discharged. ITEM: I give and bequeath to my son William Sanders, two negro slaves a man by name, Ned, a girl by name, Pinder, which he has now in possession and one tract of land lying in Green County granted formerly to Miles Hunter, also other such property as I have heretofore given him and which he is now in possession of to him and his heirs forever. ITEM: I give and bequeath to my daughter Keziah King one negro slave a girl by name, Agey, also sundry other property which she are now in possession of to her and her heirs forever. ITEM: I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Barnes one negro slave a girl by name, Nelley, also sundry other property which she are now in possession of to her and her heirs forever. ITEM: I give and bequeath to my son John Sanders, two negro slaves by name Jeface (?) and Peter also two hundred and thirty three acres of land lying on Fort Creek which is a part of the land I purchased of Daniel Taben formerly granted Habackuck (?) Right which the aforesaid - amount is to be taken off the south side of the said original tract, one horse bridle and saddle, one feather bed and furniture, two cows and calves. ITEM: I lend unto my dear beloved wife Nancy Sanders all the rest of my property, vir' (?), the balance of my lands tenements household and kitchen furniture plantation utensils and provisions which now or may be on the plantation also all my negro servants except those above mentioned that I have named in the items I do also lend to my wife Nancy Sanders all my stock with the same exceptions which are given to my son John Sanders, the names of the negro servants are as follows; Vir (?), Harry, Will, Cate, Tom, Baley, Edward, Luke, Hanner, Milley, Amey, Pipey ,Hampton, Solamian, Tannly, Edmund,Charles, Seabourn with the charactus (?) of stock vir (?), horses, cattle, sheep, hogs, goats and geese with all other poultry & c (?) for the maintenance of the family and raising and schooling my children until such period arrives in providence that when the children becomes of age or marrys, at such time or times it is my will and devise that my wife with my executors should give each of the children\their choice of the young negros one to each child with a feather bed & furniture horse bridle and saddle and a reasonable part of stock as may be spared from the remaining family and when my youngest son arrives to the age of twenty one years old by name of Mark Sanders. It is my will and devise that the balance of the negro servants horses and stock of all kind with the house hold and kitchen furniture plantation utensils be equally divided amongst my daughters and youngest sons, vir, Thos J Sanders and Mark Sanders, with all the interest and benefits appertaining thereunto. I do lend unto my beloved wife Nancy Sanders her natural life or widowhood with all the conditions attached to this my last will and devise. ITEM: I do give and bequeath unto my sons Tho's J Sanders and Mark Sanders all the balance of my land lying on Fort Creek adjoining Halsey and Crowder to be equally divided between them Mark to have his part on the north side and Thomas on the south side said lands not to be rented cleared for any use except firewood And lastly I do nominate constitute and appoint my wife Nancy Sanders my two eldest sons Wm Sanders and John Sander's, Elijah King and Thomas Barnes Executors to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand official (?) my {seal} this 24th day of August 1816. Mark Sanders [seal) Test John Sturdivant Henry Trippe JP GEORGIA } HANCOCK COUNTY } Inferior Court, setting for ordinary purposes2, December 1816______ The last will and testament of Mark Sanders deceased was proven in open court by the oaths of John Sturdavent and Henry Trippe the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. William Sanders, John Sanders and Thomas Barnes three of the nominated executors were duly qualified - Whereupon it is duly ordered that letters testamentary be granted to them accordingly. ___________________________________________________________________ ______
