G. R. HAMILTON - Sept. 2, 1830 - Nov. 28, 1904 (The G. R. stands for George Reid) Margaret Reid HAMILTON - w/o John Lewis Hanilton, Sr. - Feb. 29, 1809 - April 11, 1862. Archibald HAMILTON - Sept. 15, 1832 - Nov. 27, 1861 Lieut. Robert HAMILTON - Jan. 25, 1835 - Jun 3, 1864. Information from Carl W. McPherson, a great nephew of Margaret: Margaret Reid Hamilton is the mother of G. A., Archibald, and Robert. She and her husband John Lewis Hamilton had 10 children, including the three listed here. Five of her six sons served in the Civil War and three died as a result of the war, including Archibald and Robert listed here. John Lewis Hamilton, Sr., husband of Margaret Reid, went to Texas after the Civil War with his daughter Margaret Hamilton Knight and died there, being buried in Deming Graveyard seven miles west of St. Augustine, Texas. George Reid Hamilton was the first Probate Judge of Haralson county, Ga.. He was Founder of Hamilton College, which later became Bremen, Ga. Public Schools. He never married, nor his brother Archibald. Robert Hamilton - 2nd Lieutenant Mch. 4, 1862 - Elected 1st Lieutenant Sept. 2, 1862. Captured at Vicksburg, Miss. July 4, 1863, and oarolled there July 6, 1863. Died susbseuent to April 21, 1864 - On Muster Roll of Co.
