STATE OF GEORGIA, FULTON, COUNTY THIS INDENTURE, made this Twenty second day of February in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety Seven, between – THE KAISER FARM AND VINYARD COMPANY – the County of Fulton of the first part, and - HENRY BOYER, of the County of Torna, State of Torna of the second part. WITNESSETH: That the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of One Thousand and Sixty one and 12/100 - $1,061.12/100 DOLLARS, in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and by these presents does grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part – his – heirs and assigns, all that tract or parcel of land, lying and being – Land Lot numbered two hundred and fifty seven (257) in the Eighth (8th) district, and Fifth (5th) section of Haralson County, and State of Georgia; and known as lot numbered twenty three (23) and Twenty eight (28) in a subdivision of said land lot, made by T. J. Allen, Jr. and containing according to the plan made by said Allen, twenty (20) acres. Also two lots in Block two (2) and numbered Ten (10) and Eleven (11) in the Village known as “Stedman”, situated in said Land Lot 157, and containing each One Hundred and Thirty Four (134) feet, by fifty four (54) feet, according to survey made by R. W. Williams and T. J. Allen, Jr. To Have and to Hold the said bargained premises, together with all and singular rights, members, and appurtenances thereof, to the same being, belonging or in anywise appertaining, to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, in fee simple. And the said party of the first part, for itself, its successors and assigns, will warrant and forever defend the right and title of the above described property unto the said party of the second part – his – heirs and assigns, against the claims of all person whomsoever. These lots were later purchased by C. C. Allen and then Robert Robertson. The fruit colony and town were not successful but the community of Steadman remains today.
