Post Office Address: Dallas, Paulding County Ga Enlisted November 21st, 1814, Discharged May 20th, 1815 Declaration and identification in due form, filed April 6, 1871 Service for Sixty Days shown as follows: William Griffith served as private in Capt. Henry Lanes Co, Ga Militia, from Nov 21st 1814 to May 20th 1815, service 181 days Claimant declares he is not a pensioner under any previous act –name not on the list of pensioners Loyalty: Claimant __________testimony of Elisha Brooks and R. B. Hutcheson, good character of witnesses certified to by James T. Adair PM at Dallas, Ga. Oath to support the constitution of the U.S. Subscribed. Admitted Sept. 18th, 1871, to a Pension of eight dollars per month, from February 14, 1871. Signed N. N. Beall, R., Dallas, Ga John M. Welty Approved , Ex’r. Also, personally appeared Elisha Brooks, residing at no._____in_____Haralson County Ga and R. B. Hutcheson residing at no_______, in Haralson Co Ga, persons whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit, and who being by me duly sworn say: They were present and saw William Griffith, the claimant, sign his name (or make his mark) to the foregoing declaration: that they have every reason to believe, from the appearance of said claimant and their acquaintance with him, that hi is the identical person he represents himself to be: that at no time during the late rebellion against the authority of the United States did he adhere to the cause of the enemies of the Government, giving them aid or comfort; and that they have no interest in the prosecution of this claim. Elisha Brooks R. B. Hutcheson Swore to and subscribed before me, this 29th day of March A.D. 1871, and I hereby certify that the contents of the above declaration &c. were fully made known and explained to the applicant and witnesses before swearing, including the words Paulding, No. in street the, erased, and the words or added; and that I have no interest, direct or indirect, in the prosecution of this claim. Hutcheson witnesses to the loyalty of William Griffith surviving soldier of the war of 1812 in his Pension application No 7067 are men of undoubted good character for truth and veracity and that their statements in the affidavit referred to are worthy of full faith and credit.
