Jenkins, Clerk of Superior Court a court of record in and for the county and state aforesaid, Anna Rowell, aged 77 years, a resident of Haralson County, State of Georgia, who being duly sworn according to law declares that she is the widow of William Rowell who served the full period of sixty days in the military service of the United States in the War of 1812 and who was the identical William Rowell who was enlisted in Captain Benjamin Cleaveleands Company at Carnesville, Georgia August 24, 1813 and was honorably discharged March 10, 1814, that the command to which he belonged was on duty at Fort Hawkins while he was in said service. That she was married under the name of Anna Fitzgerald to said William Rowell in October 1813 by John Varner. At there being no legal barrier to such marriage that her said husband died in Haralson County on the 11th day of March, 1856 and that she has not remarried since his death that at no time during the late rebellion against the authority of the United States did she or her said husband adhere to the cause of the enemies of the government giving them aid or comfort or exercise the functions of any office whatever under any authority or pretended authority in hostility to the United States that she will support the Constitution of the United States that she is not in receipt of a pension roll of the United States under the provisions of the act approved February 14th 1871 and hereby constitutes and appoints with full power of substitution and revocation Head and Merrill her true and lawful attorneys to prosecute her claim and procure the issuance of a pension certificate to her, that her post office is at Buchanan, County of Haralson, State of Georgia, that her domicile or place of abode is Haralson County. Rowell was born February 7th 1830 Elizabeth Ann Rowell was born February 3rd 1835 Haralson County, Georgia Personally came before me David Bowling Ordinary in and for said County Anna Rowell who being duly sworn deposited and saith that the above is correct transcription of the Bible Record of the births of her children that it is correct and gives the true dates of the births of her children that the same was recorded in the bible by her husband William Rowell sometime after they were born.
