Shell, a prominent citizen of Bremen County, was accidentally shot and killed by his wife this morning at 10 o’clock. The day previous he traded for a 41 caliber revolver, which was lying near where he was sitting in a chair nursing a hand with blood poison. Mrs. Shell picked up the pistol and was playing with it and her 18 months old babe when the pistol was discharged, the ball entering Mr. Shell’s right side, passing near his heart and producing death in forty-five minutes. The only words spoken was in answer to his wife when she asked him if he would forgive her. He replied, “I forgive you.” Mrs. Shell is prostrated with grief. Additional Comments: Note:This article lists the location of death as Bremen County, however there isn't a county in Georgia with this name. Buchanan, Ga. is located in Haralson County, so I'm posting the article to this county page. I'm not researching this family and have no details on them.
