Power of Attorney by J. M. Terrell. Margaret signed with an "X" (her mark). "Age 66, never lived outside GA. Resident of GA since 27 Dec 1834. Born near Hamilton in Harris Co. GA. Husband, Alexander Teel, born 1 April 1838, in Harris Co. GA. Alexander enlisted April 1862, Harris Co. GA., Co. A, 54th GA. Alexander discharged 25 April 1865 at Greensboro NC but was in the hospital in Columbus GA at the time of surrender. Grounds for pension for Margaret: old age, infirmity and poverty". Witnesses: R. (Richard?) J. Hubbard and B. (Benjamin?) Stripling. "Margaret has rheumatism in legs and ankles. Supported in 1896 and 1897 by her 3 daughters (2 of whom are married) and supported 1899 - 1900 by her single daughter. Single daughter suffers from bronchitis and catarrh of the head".
