Barden Clk Recevd of Martha Miller four Hundred & fifty Dollars in full payment of a Negro Girl named Roda about 22 years old, the title of said Negro I do warrant and defend forever in fee simple January 18th, 1853 – Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of Harrison K. Dunn Jas B. Henderson B. F. McDaniel, J.P. State of Georgia Harris County This Indenture made this the 19th day of January A.D. 1853. Between Martha Miller of the one part and Joseph Miller of the other part, both of said state and County, Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars cash in hand, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and for and in consideration of the love and affection which I have and bear for my Daughter Jane Dunn and her children which she now has or may hereafter have, I Martha Miller doth hereby grant sell and convey unto the said Joseph Miller a certain Negro woman named Rhoda about twenty two years of age in trust for the use and benefit of my said Daughter and the children which she now has or which she may hereafter have by her present husband Harrison K. Dunn or any future husband and for their use and benefit alone free from the debts liabilities or control of her present or any future Husband, at this or any future periods. And should the said Negro woman have any Children they are also for the use and benefit alone of my said Daughter and the Children which she now has or may hereafter as aforesaid. And the said Martha Miller doth hereby appoint the said Joseph Miller trustee for the purposes above Stated.
