Carlisle August 16th. She had been an invalid for several years she bore her sufferings patiently and asked how she felt would always answer, with a sweet smile I feel better she never complained but rather made one see that a life hid with Christ in God is triumphant even on the brink of death. Her going away was not in gloom and hopelessness. To have known such a happy patient consecrated christian is in itself great gain. To see one passing through pain down to the edge of the dark waters, as if cheered and heartened by music heard from those who sing as they walk the beautiful strand on the other side of the grave is enough to convince one of the power of the Christian religion to make harmonious even the valley of the shadow of death. Her husband preceded her to the grave many years ago, she leaves several children to mourn her death, she was 79 years of age. J.B.F. Shiloh, Ga.
