Mr. Poys Grant, better known as “Tip” Grant died last Friday at the home of 
one of his sons in South Georgia.  He was buried at the old home place in 
Harris county Sunday.  Mr. Grant was well known to the people of Talbotton, 
having spent a good deal of his time here with his daughter, Mrs. Charley 
Grant, of this place.  

Mr. Grant’s boyhood days were in the times of “Tippecanoe and Tyler too.”  By 
his frequent saying of this popular phrase when he was a boy he came to be 
called “Tip” Grant.

Miss Alice Grant and brother Ross, attended the funeral of their grandfather 
at Chipley Saturday and Sunday.
