Hon. T.T. Murrah Dead

Hon. T.T. Murrah, a prominent merchant and banker of Chipley, was shot and 
killed there Monday afternoon at the depot.  He was talking to some friends at 
the time and had no warning that danger was at hand.  Ab Hastey, who at one 
time lived in Talbotton, did the killing.  It is reported that he walked up to 
Murrah and shot him to death without giving him the slightest chance for his 
life.  Hasty was arrested and put in the guardhouse but was later rescued by 
friends and is now at large.
