Death at Shiloh

Mr. Alford Smith died at his home here on the morning of the 13th inst., in 
his 73rd year.  His devoted wife survives him and it was beautiful to see them 
descend life’s hill together, nearing their fiftieth anniversary.

Deceased leaves three sons and two daughters, who kindly administered to every 
want.  They are Mr. S.G. Smith of Manchester, Mr. Jessie and Calvin Smith of 
Birmingham, and Mrs. Griffin and Mrs. Kellum of Shiloh.  Also several 
grandchildren to mourn the loss of this good man who was long a member of the 
Shiloh Missionary Baptist church, and loyal to all of its ordinances, from 
which church the remains were interred Saturday morning in the presence of a 
large concourse of friends.
