JAMES JEFFERSON EVANS 
 
Born in Poughkeepsie, NY  in 1873.  In 1880’s he moved to Harris County. 
In 1906 he married Dora Rosamond. 
They raised their family on what is the corner of Barnes Mill and Duke Roads. 
He died in February 1943 and is buried in 
Shadowlawn Cemetery in Troup County, GA.
