WELCOME PARKS DUKE LOG CABIN 
 
Welcome P. Duke won land in Harris County through the 1827 Georgia land lottery. 
In 1830 he constructed this log cabin, which is on Duke Road in Hamilton, GA. 
Members of the Duke family were still living in the cabin as late as the 1960’s, in the 
later years it was used as a kitchen. 
On July 23, 1999 this cabin was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. 
It needs TLC to continue its preservation.
