Copeland Will - 1860 Last Will and Testament of Pinckney A. Copeland Decd Recorded State of Georgia Harris County In the name of God, Amen I P. A. Copeland of the above named State and County do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me made. Item 1st. I commend my immortal being to Him who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christianlike manner. Item 2. My will is that all of my just debts be paid by my executors hereinafter named out of my Estate as soon after my decease as shall (be) by him found convenient. Item 3rd. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved M. A. E. Trammell my Roan Horse. Item 4. I give the remainder of my Estate to my Brother J. T. Copeland and sister M. A. E. Trammell, both real and personal to be equally divided between them. Item 5. I do hereby nominate and appoint my worthy and trusty brother John T. Copeland my Executor. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the 10th of March one thousand eight hundred and sixty. his P. A. Copeland as his last will and testament in the presence of us the subscribers who subscribed our names hereunto in the presence of said Testator at his special instance and request and of each other this March the 1860. A. A. Trammell Mary Dendy William Adams Georgia Harris County Court of Ordinary April Term 1860 Personally appeared in open court Jno. T. Copeland the Executor named in a paper writing purporting to be the last Will & Testament of Pinckney A. Copeland late of said county deseased and produced said paper writing also personally came Wm Adams one of the subscribing witnesses to said paper writing who being sworn deposeth & saith that he saw the said Testator Pinckney A. Copeland, sign, seal, deliver and publish the said paper writing now presented in Open Court as his last will & testament, freely, voluntarily and of his own accord, and without any compulsion nor influence whatsoever that all the terms of the Execution of said Will said Testator was of sound and disposing mind & memory – that deponent – signed said will as a witness in the presence of the Testator and at his special instance & request and in the presence of the other witnesses – that he saw A. A. Trammell and Mary Denty the two other subscribing witnesses, sign the said will at the request of the said Testator and in the presence of each other.
