Marshall was apparently from Talbot Co., GA. His widow, Mary, married Thomas M. Pace of Harris Co., GA. I'm guessing that when Mary married Thomas Pace, she moved to Harris Co. and a copy of her previous husband's will was filed there. =================== Copy of the Last Will & Testament of S. F. Marshall Recorded Georgia, Talbot County In the name of God Amen! I make this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all others heretofore made by me. Item 1st I desire my just debts to be paid out of my estate by my exec-utors and executrix hereinafter mentioned. Item 2nd I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary F. Marshall my best gold watch -- my Rockaway -- my horse Ben (?) and one other horse to be purchased by my executors and executrix hereinafter appointed, out of the proceeds of my estate and turned over to my beloved wife Mary F. Marshall, and also all my household furniture. Item 3rd I give and bequeath unto my brother William J. Marshall in the event he returns from the war alive my shot gun and pistol. Item 4th I give and bequeath unto my brother James F. Marshall my rifle gun. Item 5th I desire and direct the remainder of my estate that I have not disposed of in the above items of this my will be kept together for the benefit of my beloved wife Mary F. Marshall and my children in the event my beloved wife Mary F. Marshall shall marry I direct my executors and executrix hereinafter appointed I desire her equal portion of my estate not disposed in Item Second, third and fourth in this my will, and said equal portion turned over unto my beloved wife Mary F. Marshall by my executors. Item 6th I desire the balance of my estate kept together for the benefit of my children in case they marry or arrive to the age of twenty years, their distributive shares to be turned over to them by the executors and executrix hereinafter appointed. Item 7th I give my executors and executrix full power to sell any portion of my estate, and buy any property they may see proper for the benefit of my estate, and do all other matters, as pertaining to farming or hiring. Item 8th I hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Mary F. Marshall Executrix, Irby H. Pitts, James F. Marshall, Lewis G. Pitts my Executors of this my last Will and Testament this February 23 - 1862. s/ S. F.
