Last Will and Testament of Samuel Pitts Decd.

In the name of God Amen.

I Samuel Pitts of said county and state being advanced in life and 
suffering intense infirmity of body deem it proper to make a disposition 
of the property which a kind providence has blessed me and therefore 
make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all others.

Item 1st     I give and bequeath to my wife Nancy and to my daughter 
Fletcher Marshall all the property of which I may die possessed, real 
and personal money, notes, ac-counts, cotton &c&c. to have and to hold 
mutually and e-qually during my wifes life and after death her moiety or 
half to be divided equally between all my children, and that to my 
daughter Fletcher in fee simple.

Item 2nd     My wife and daughter Fletcher I desire to pay all my just 
debts and I leave to my wife discreetion [sic] to give as she may desire 
to any one or more of her grand children to be estima-ted in her half of 
all the property when divided as provided in the event of her death.

Item 3rd     I hereby appoint and constitute my sons Irby H. Pitts and 
Hilliard Pitts Executors of this my last Will and Testament.

Signed, sealed, declared and published by Samuel Pitts as his last Will 
and Testament in presence of us the sub-scribers who subscribed our names 
hereto in the presence of the said Testator and at his special instance 
and request and of each other.
This January 25th 1870.
