Indenture between William Ray & Henry Gordon 12 Mar 1863 Hart Co, GA DEED - William C. Ray to Henry B. Gordon Georgia : This Indenture made this 12th day of March in Hart County : the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and sixty three between William. C. Ray of the county and state aforesaid of the one part and Henry B. Gordon of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that the said William. C. Ray for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred dollars to him in hand and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and conveyed and doth by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Henry B. Gordon his heirs and assigns all that tract and parcel of land situate lying and being in the county aforesaid being originally Elbert county but now Hart county Containing one hundred and two acres and said lot being granted to the said William C. Ray and having the following bounds beginning at [a] chestnut corner running south 62 W 15.50 to a Post oak corner Thence North 46 W 12.50 to a pine Thence North 50 West 24 to a pine Thence N 24 W 6 to a pine Thence North 62 ½ E 29. Thence South 29 E42 to the beginning chestnut corner, Adjoining lands of the said William C. Ray, James F. Duncan, and others to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land unto him the said Henry B. Gordon his heirs and assigns together with all and singular the rights member and appurtenances thereof to the same in any ______(unreadable) belonging to his and their own proper use and benefit and behoof forever in fee simple And the said William C. Ray for himself his heirs Executors and administrators the said bargained premises unto the said Henry B. Gordon his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claims of all other persons whatsoever.
