Ray married Sarah in Elbert Co. in 1851 * A.M. Ray enlisted in 1864 in Co. C, 5th Reg., State Troops of Atlanta. This troop surrendered April, 1865 at Appomatox. A. M. Ray not present at surrender. Left his company Jan., 1865, near Augusta with typhoid fever. * A.M. Ray died in Hart Co., 1873 * Sarah Ray owned 60 acres of land worth approx. $1,000 and personal property worth approximately $25. * Application signed Sarah E. Ray * 6 AUG 1910 * Tax Return 1908 - $195 1910 - $315 * Witness: W. R.
