When the brothers of this young lady found that she and her lover had eloped, they grabbed their Winchesters and went in hot pursuit after them arriving at the justice's home in time to prevent the marriage. The lovers made their escape through a back door and fled to the woods, where they remained during the night hiding from the brothers, who were hunting them. Early Saturday morning, they made their way to Bio district afoot, about eight miles from where they were, to a residence of one of the citizens of that district. The father of Mr. Dunn secured the services of a justice from Alford's district, and they hurriedly drove across the county, a distance of about fourteen miles, to where the young couple were, and as soon as they arrived at the place, the justice at once began to preform the ceremony. The rapid driving of the father and justice excited the curiosity of an old inhabitant who saddled his mule and went in hast after them, he not being able to keep up with the justice and the father, rushed up just as the marriage was being consummated, causing the young lady to faint, she thinking it was her brothers. The brothers when last heard from were still hunting the young couple.
