HARTWELL BOY IN NAVY DIES FROM PNEUMONIA - Hartwell, Ga., September 25 - A. N. 
Alford, prominent  merchant here, has received news of the death from 
pneumonia at Norfolk, Va., of his son, Owen J. Alford, who was serving his 
second enlistment in the navy. Young Alford had served four years in the navy, 
and had received his discharge, but when war was declared he immediately 
joined again. The funeral will take place in Hartwell on the arrival of the 
body from Norfolk.

Hart Co. cemetery records show Owen Judson Alford, born 19 Aug 1888, died 25 
Sep 1918, buried Northview cemetery, Hartwell.
